Religious Art

Finding time for painting has been hard in the last months. With my daughter doing her First Holy Communion in the end of April, I spent most of March and April preparing things for this important event in her life. I wanted to do something special for her and her friends that involved art. I found some nice unfinished wood crosses. They were the perfect canvasses for doing some religious art. Religious art, modern and without eyes!...I don't know if it is the same for you, but for me, it always feels weird to be in a room with art that has eyes on it!... I looked and looked, and finally I found the artwork of an organic artist( http://organicdrawings.blogspot.com/ )that inspired me and the final product is this. The idea was doing a representation of Jesus without drawing his face. I stained the wood and then I draw the pattern using black acrylic paint, and I really love the result!!
